Patternly – Children's Eczema Tracker

Privacy Policy & Terms

This page explains how Patternly works, how information is handled, and the terms that apply when using the app.

Important: Patternly is a tracking and organisation tool. It does not provide medical advice, diagnose eczema, identify allergies, determine the cause of flare-ups, or replace advice from a doctor, dermatologist, pharmacist or other qualified healthcare professional.

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 03 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Patternly ("Patternly", "we", "us" or "our") handles information when you use the Patternly mobile application.

1. What Patternly does

Patternly is designed for parents and carers of children aged 0–12 to record eczema-related information such as symptoms, foods, treatments, sleep disruption, environmental factors and notes. Patternly may use this information to help generate pattern-based observations from the information entered into the app.

2. Data handling

Patternly differentiates between data stored locally on your device and information transmitted for optional AI features.

A. Local storage

Patternly is designed so that your primary journal information is stored locally on your device. This includes:

Patternly does not store this journal data on Patternly-owned servers. If you delete the app, reset your device or lose access to your device, your locally stored data may be permanently lost unless your device operating system or backup settings preserve it.

B. Third-party services (RevenueCat)

Patternly uses RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases and subscriptions. RevenueCat processes limited technical and purchase-related information to verify entitlement status and manage subscriptions. Patternly does not send your journal entries, child profile logs, or health data to RevenueCat.

C. Apple App Store purchases

If you subscribe through the Apple App Store, purchase processing is handled by Apple under their terms and privacy policy. Patternly does not receive your full payment card details.

3. AI Pattern Analysis

When you choose to generate a Pattern Analysis and provide explicit consent, selected tracking information is transmitted to [AI PROVIDER] for processing. This feature is entirely voluntary.

What is NOT transmitted:

What is transmitted:

Only the minimum selected tracking information strictly required to perform the requested analysis is transmitted.

Purpose and Consent:

This transmission is solely to process your request for AI-generated trend patterns. You provide explicit, opt-in consent before any data is sent. If you do not provide consent or choose not to use the AI features, your data is never transmitted.

Withdrawing Consent:

You can withdraw consent by disabling the AI features in your app settings or by choosing not to use the AI Pattern Analysis feature. Upon withdrawal, no further analysis will be performed, and no further data will be transmitted.

Data Retention and Protection:

[AI PROVIDER] processes this information in accordance with their applicable privacy policy and data protection arrangements. Your data transmitted for a specific analysis request is used solely to process your request. Please review [AI PROVIDER]'s terms for specific details on how they handle and retain data.

Note: As with all AI-assisted features, output is intended for tracking and organisation purposes only. It is not medical advice and does not replace a qualified healthcare professional.

6. Children's information

Patternly is intended for use by parents and carers. Children should not use Patternly without parent or carer supervision. Any child-related information entered into Patternly is provided by the parent or carer and is stored locally on the user's device.

7. Data we do not sell

We do not sell your personal information. We do not sell your child's information. We do not use your journal entries for third-party advertising.

8. Analytics and advertising

This version of Patternly is intended to operate without uploading journal data to Patternly-owned servers. If analytics, crash reporting or advertising tools are added in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated before those tools are used in a way that changes data collection.

9. Device permissions

Patternly may request permission to send notifications if you choose to set daily reminders. You can enable or disable notifications through your device settings at any time.

10. Data deletion

Because journal data is stored locally on your device, you can delete your Patternly journal data by using any in-app delete options provided or by deleting the app from your device. Deleting the app does not automatically cancel an Apple App Store subscription. Subscriptions must be managed through your Apple account settings.

11. Data security

Patternly relies on your device's operating system and security settings to help protect locally stored app data. You are responsible for keeping your device secure, using a strong passcode, and controlling who has access to your device.

13. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Material changes may also be communicated inside the app where appropriate.

Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 03 July 2026

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Patternly mobile application. By using Patternly, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. About Patternly

Patternly is a children's eczema tracking and organisation app for parents and carers. It allows users to record daily eczema-related information and view pattern-based observations from their own entries.

2. Not medical advice

Patternly is not a medical device, healthcare provider, doctor, dermatologist, pharmacist or clinical service. Patternly does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, allergy testing, emergency support or clinical decision-making.

Any information, analysis, trend, pattern or observation provided by Patternly is for general tracking and organisation purposes only. You should not rely on Patternly as a substitute for professional medical advice.

Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before making decisions about your child's eczema, medication, diet, allergy concerns, skincare routine or treatment plan.

3. Emergency and urgent care

Patternly is not for emergencies. If your child is experiencing severe symptoms, signs of infection, breathing difficulties, swelling, an allergic reaction, severe pain or any urgent medical concern, seek immediate medical help through appropriate emergency services or a qualified healthcare professional.

4. User responsibility

You are responsible for:

5. AI-generated observations

Patternly may use AI-assisted features to produce observations based on your logs. These outputs may be incomplete, inaccurate or not clinically relevant. A recurring observation does not prove causation. For example, if a food, treatment or environmental factor appears near flare-ups in your logs, that does not mean it caused the flare-up.

Do not use AI-generated observations to diagnose eczema, identify allergies, restrict your child's diet, change medication, stop treatment or replace professional medical advice.

6. Local data storage

Patternly is designed to store journal data locally on your device. You are responsible for maintaining access to your device and any device backups. Patternly is not responsible for loss of locally stored information caused by device loss, app deletion, device reset, operating system issues or user error.

7. Subscriptions and payments

Patternly may offer paid access through in-app purchases or subscriptions. Purchases made through the Apple App Store are managed by Apple. Subscription billing, renewal, cancellation and refund processes are subject to Apple's terms and policies.

You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple account settings. Deleting the app does not automatically cancel a subscription.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

9. Intellectual property

Patternly, including its name, branding, design, interface, text, features and related materials, belongs to Patternly or its licensors. You may use the app for personal, non-commercial use only.

10. Availability and changes

We may update, change, suspend or discontinue parts of Patternly at any time. We aim to keep Patternly reliable, but we do not guarantee that the app will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Patternly is provided "as is" and "as available". We are not liable for losses arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app, including reliance on logs, AI-generated observations or locally stored information.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

12. No guarantee of outcomes

Patternly does not guarantee that eczema will improve, that flare-ups will reduce, that triggers will be identified, or that any specific health outcome will occur.

13. Third-party services

Patternly uses RevenueCat for subscription management and may rely on Apple for payment processing and app distribution. Third-party services are subject to their own terms and privacy practices.

14. Termination

You may stop using Patternly at any time. We may restrict or terminate access if you breach these Terms or misuse the app.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, unless local consumer protection laws require otherwise.
